A spellbinding, family light experience
Enter Archerfield’s mystical fairy trail and get lost in a world of fairies, elves and folklore. There is no time more magical than Christmas and New Year for the forest folk as they transform their woodland home into a shimmering, spellbinding, spectacle! Welcome to a place where wishes come true, resolutions are made and magical things happen. The elves and fairies invite you to explore their forest village and get lost in a world of bright lights, dancing forest folk and beautiful woodland. With live performers and lighting design from JMP Productions, whose recent credits include the opening of The Queensferry Crossing, The Enchanted Castle and Snowdrops by Starlight, you do not want to miss East Lothian’s largest scale Christmas event.
The experience begins with a self-led torch-lit adventure from the pond, down the twinkling willow walk and onto the Fairy Trail (we will provide torches but you are welcome to bring your own). Once on The Fairy Trail you will enter their magical world where you can spot fairies and elves, explore their village and if you’re really lucky you might even catch a glimpse of the fairy disco! At The Fairy Wishing Frame, designed by the incredible Projector Club, you will be able to make a special wish at this interactive, animated installation (there is a nominal additional charge of £1 per person for this).
If that’s not enough The Winter Barn, our festive open-air hangout in the 18th century walled garden, is the perfect place to meet for a mulled cider, hot chocolate, hearty hot food or even pick up your Christmas tree. Stay warm next to one of our firepits beneath the twinkling lights and get into the festive spirit. We’ll be joined by Thistly Cross Cider, Haggisman and Mutley’s Crepes. The Winter Barn is open daily from 3 – 8.30pm throughout A Christmas Fairy Trail. No tickets are required and entry is free. It will open from 12pm on weekends.
Show every half an hour from 4pm – 8.30pm (experience lasts approximately 45 mins)
